Helen Roe – Credentials

Helen Roe has been a lecturer in Hairdressing for 13 years and has also owned and run her own salon for over 10 years. Helen’s most recent venture, Exceed Hair Academy, was launched in September 2006 and has already proven a great success.

Helen explains:-

“I’m aiming to change the stereotype of hairdressing trainees being undervalued, floor-sweeping, hair washers. Young people today want to do so much more and I want to be able to teach them the skills to help them get where they want to be. As a salon owner myself, I get first-hand experience of the trends and fashions, the styles people are asking for every day.

This means I can pass on such knowledge and not just teach standard text-book techniques. My students will receive the added benefit of “The Fantastic Hairdresser” programme’s teachings. It will help motivate them to use their initiative, become real team players, eager to learn and possessing all the hairdressing skills today’s employers are looking for.”

Helen is passionate about teaching what she calls “the total hairdressing experience.” This includes, quite importantly, the customer service skills that can make or break a salon. In short, teaching tomorrow’s Fantastic Hairdressers that salon owners across the country will be only too pleased to employ.
